I’m thinking of my pops today. And I’m thinking of Marjorie’s profound kindness, and her convictions. She was just so good to everyone. And she showed me that you could be that level of good and kind while also having some real teeth. She was no pushover. She was clear in her convictions, and in her sense about right and wrong. It was nuanced and thoughtful, but clear. And she somehow managed to express that clarity in each conversation or situation without making others feel judged. She is still that light up on the hill for me. And in tough situations, thinking “What Would Marjorie Do”, and trying to rise to it, will always be one way she stays alive in my life.
