Like so many others who have shared their memories here, I was struck by Marjorie's extraordinary kindness. I don't think I ever saw her irritated or short-tempered, no matter what the deadline pressure. She literally changed my life when she agreed to take a chance on me despite my total lack of journalism training or experience. I hope my seven years with the Monitor (wearing half a dozen different hats) justified her faith in me. She was one of the warmest, kindest people in the newsroom -- and that's saying something, because there were a lot of great people in that room. She was just an amazing person, and I'm so sorry I won't get to thank her in person for everything she meant to me. Sending so much love to everyone in her family. -- Liz Fuller-Wright
