Marjorie. Marjorie. Marjorie. Marjorie. Marjorie. Her name will always symbolize the best of what human beings can be. There was no other edge to her sword; no bad with the good. She found a way to just be good, all the time, in every way, to every living thing. Marjorie excelled at goodness, both the sweet kind and the bold. She was independent, and confident, and smart, and full of verve. One of her childhood friends describes her as “true north”, and that strikes a chord. She lived her entire life according to her morals and her convictions. She was the real deal, and I am lucky to witness the kind of light that shines from a person like that. I am so, so lucky that this person, this angel, came to bless our lives in the way that she did, seemingly out of nowhere. I will always think of her cute bangs, her maniacal hunger, her big hugs, her big smile, her quick steps on long walks, her curiosity about all things in the world, and her devotion to Christian Science, and to my dad, and us, and Italy, and animals, and truth and goodness. Thank you, Marjorie, for being a part of our family. You made us all so much better.
