I got to know Marjorie because she was an editor when I spent a summer with the Monitor. We stayed in touch for years after because of our mutual love of good food and good books. I'm still working on reading my way through the last set of book recommendations she sent me. I'll miss our long-running email chains and the excitement of seeing a new cookie recipe in my inbox from her.
