Some people pass through your life and leave an impression that stays with you forever. Marjorie was that kind of friend. Although we never met in person, we had New Jersey in common, and I'm sure our paths crossed there more than once without our even knowing. Her more than ten years worth of emails about books and book reviews were like a real friend was smiling and encouraging me. This morning, I glanced above my desk at my "Quaker Motto Calendar" and saw this quote by the Dalai Lama: “Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible.” I will miss Marjorie and send love to her other friends and to her family. Augusta Scattergood
