Her smile. Her gentleness. Her erudition. Marjorie ennobled the lives of everyone who knew her — from a newly-arrived intern to a world-wise foreign correspondent. She was honest, loving, and welcoming. And in the ever-shifting world of 21st century journalism, she was resourceful and adaptable. Like scores of others, I am richer for having worked with her in the Monitor newsroom. If her light seems to have gone out in this world, it shines brightly in the hearts of those whose lives she graced while she was here — and those whose lives she will grace in the next chapter of her eternal journey. “Unable are the loved to die, for Love is immortality” isn’t just Emily Dickinson’s fond hope. It is the reality that transcends our world and transforms our lives. -- John Yemma
