Not only was Marjorie the kindest person, she always radiated such happiness to offer those kindnesses. During a time I didn’t have a regular desk at the Monitor, I occasionally forgot my reading glasses. Marjorie came to the rescue with a slim-line, fashionable women’s pair, and she shared my amusement at wearing them. Thereafter, I only needed to give her a certain look, and without a word she reached for the glasses. One year during Jamaica Plain’s Porch Fest, my son and I passed by John and Marjorie’s home on Sedgwick St. How cool was it to watch a colleague play in a band? No sooner did I have that thought, Marjorie came by with a plate of home-made cookies. Of course. Ken K.
