Marjorie was the reason I started working at the Monitor, moved to Boston and met friends and colleagues that will be with me the rest of my life, and I'm forever grateful to her for that. I specifically remember an intern lunch where she shared the ups, downs and lessons learned of her writing and journalism career, and how encouraging she was about the many paths that lead to a fulfilling professional life. She was always there as a friendly and helpful voice in the newsroom. She will be missed.
