Marjorie was a special aunt to me. I recall as a teenager, visiting her NYC apartment and marveling at what an intelligent, independent and graceful woman she was. And admiring the bright white love seat in her living room, which she proudly told me came with a warranty to be replaced if (when!) it got stained. Sharing those simple laughs with Marjorie was easy and fun and a reminder of how genuine and relatable she was. A few years ago when I got engaged, Marjorie sent me a beautiful flower arrangement. I called to thank her and we talked for a while, bonding over having both met “the love of our life, later in life;” and how it was so worth the wait to each find our perfect John. Marjorie has left an indelible mark on my life, and it’s no surprise to see how many others feel the same.
