I knew Marjorie when we were both members of the same church in NYC. What always struck me was her warmth, her easy humor, her testimonies that felt so genuine and from the heart. Marjorie always inspired with fresh concepts and language. She had such a tender heart for animals, especially dogs, and often brought hers to church. I was thrilled when I heard about her marriage to John, whose parents I had known briefly in Illinois. Whenever I saw her byline in the Monitor, I read the article, no matter what the topic, as I knew it would be compelling and excellently written. In her own straight-forward, clear-eyed way, Marjorie encouraged our daughter who was considering a career with the Monitor - and she has done that for so many other young writers, too. I have not seen her for years but I feel a keen affection for Marjorie and know she goes on brightening the universe. Wendy
