In Fall 2016, Marjorie hired me as a Rapid Response Intern at the Christian Science Monitor - a decision that launched a reporting career. I'm forever grateful to her for taking a chance on me and giving the kind of mentorship - often challenging, never harsh, always constructive - that prepared me for future positions, and I'll always look back fondly on our conversations about books, history and travel.
